United States of America - Illinois, MichaelJob Summary​ AECOM is looking for a seasoned Environmental Technician in our Chicago, IL office. Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.

May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.

Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.

Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.

Stormwater Treatment OM: Frequency: Weekly Task: Perform routine OM and record system operation readings for two stormwater systems and one GAC-micron filter treatment system.

Troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment if needed.

NPDES Sampling Frequency: MonthlyTask: Set up autosamplers and collect monthly stormwater samples.

MGP groundwater treatment system OM Frequency: Monthly Task: Perform routine OM and record system operation readings for a groundwater treatment system. Collect monthly system operation and effluent samples. Troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment if needed.

Septic System OM Frequency: Monthly Task: Perform routine OM on a septic system and troubleshoot the malfunctioning equipment if needed.

Minimum Requirements

High school + 2 years of related experience or AA/AS

Preferred Qualifications

High school + 4 years of related experience
