Kelly Engineering Resources an outstanding long-term contract/contract to hire opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with medium to high voltage power systems engineering experience. Our client, a growing NETA accredited electrical testing organization, provides electrical testing on power generating systems for utilities, oil & gas, renewable energy, data centers, heavy industry and agriculture.In this role, you would be joining the power systems studies group where you will perform arc flash analysis using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower. This is a great role for an Electrical Engineer that likes both working in field and doing design & analysis.Essential Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:

Provide engineering related design, analysis and studies for domestic and international projects.

Walk the plant in order to conduct in depth analysis and data collection on power systems such as:

Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.

Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies.

Interact with customers (onsite) to gather critical information and review engineering plans.

Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls.

Occasionally work with our Field Services team on shut-down, startup and maintenance projects.

Qualifications of the Successful Electrical Engineer:

BS in Electrical Engineering is a hard requirement

Minimum 2 years’ power systems engineering experience in either power generation maintenance/reliability, power system design, system studies, or field services and include working knowledge of:

Short circuit analysis

Protective device coordination

Arc flash analysis

Power quality

Prefers hands on plant analysis work versus behind the desk all day.

Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and any of the power systems modeling software, prefer SKM, ETAP, ASPEN or EasyPower.

Able to travel extensively 80% throughout the United States is required, internationally on occasion a plus.
