Volt DTS Division has an immediate opening for a Met Tech working onsite at our customer located in Mossville, IL on a long-term contract position. The Metallurgical Technician position will support the TC-K Met Lab. The Met Tech will work on a team and will be responsible for executing metal hardness testing as well as secondary sample prep (mounting and polishing activities) to support to a metallurgical testing laboratory. The Met Tech is required to follow written instructions and be able to read blueprints and must pay attention to detail all while being quality oriented. Equipment used to perform machinist job functions include hardness testers (Rockwell B & C, Brinell, etc), as well as Stuers mount and polishing machines.Work Requirements:· Prior experience in a metallurgical lab environment or similar is required. · Lab experience with steel fabrications or castings is desirable.· The Met Tech must be capable of communicating with all levels of employees found in a professional lab environment, including supervisors and company engineers.· The Met Tech must be team oriented, self-motivated and be flexible to working weekends and overtime when needed. This position is subject to US Export Controls. Must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident.
