- Metallography, microstructure ratings and photos.
- Mechanical testing and hardness testing of ferrous casting, steel and forged components.
- Document all field failures and internally produced product.
- Primary testing focus for the position is microstructure reading, rating, and photography.
- Hardness testing (contour, surface and microhardness), and possibly tensile, and charpy impact testing with mounting and polishing preparation responsibility.
- Capable of communicating with all levels of employees found in a professional lab environment, including supervisors and engineers.
- Team oriented, self-motivated and be flexible to working weekends and overtime when needed.
- ability to support a high velocity-manufacturing environment.

- Basic computer skills including MSWord, Excel, and ability to learn shop SPC system.
- High School Diploma (College degree preferred).
- Exposure to metallurgy or materials science concepts and ISO 9001/17025 is highly desirable.
- experience interpreting engineering drawings and following written audit guidelines.
