Job DescriptionExciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician in our Clinical Divert Department! The Pharmacy Technician reviews clinical diverts received from various departments and evaluates them for clinical opportunity. The pharmacy technician addresses the appropriateness of a therapy, generic substitution, or therapeutic interchange opportunities with potential cost savings outcomes. The Pharmacy Technician initiates phone calls, and receives inbound calls from physician offices and translates prescriptions. The Pharmacy Technician works in a fast paced, team setting, and collaborates with the team to problem solve and execute a high quality product for CVS Caremark’s participants. Current IL pharmacy technician license

6+ months of pharmacy technician experience (including reading prescriptions)

Ability to calculate figures, rates, ratios, percentages in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

Preferred Qualifications

PTCB Certification

Strong/professional communication skills with physicians and doctors

Effectively identify problems, collect data, and draw conclusions

Understand clinical rationale behind therapy protocols
