Medline Industries, Inc. Information Services Department is seeking a B2C web ecommerce Systems Analyst to join our E-Commerce technology team. This is an opportunity to be a key part of the team responsible for configuring, tuning and the maintenance of athome.medline.com and other B2C ecommerce applications. The Systems Analyst has essential responsibilities that span operations and development of sites in the teams portfolio. This position has the flexibility of being located in our Northfield (preferred). Mundelein, or Chicago. Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain production and non-production application environments
- Technical understanding to troubleshoot and resolve system issues for E-commerce applications
- Monitor health of the website(s), and respond to incidents and disruptions such as errors, slow response times, and memory conditions.
- Coordinate between Development, Operational and Infrastructure teams to ensure smooth release process
- Ability to independently construct advanced SQL queries, particularly with MySQL.
- Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement DevOps pipelines using Jenkins or another suitable DevOps automation tool(s).
- Role includes a combination of environment, infrastructure and configuration management responsibilities.
- Respond to queries about how the system operates
- Develop extensions to our web commerce environment to support a variety of business needs.
- Develop and leverage tools to manage infrastructure via code.
- Adhere to IS Department policies best practices and work successfully in an Agile/Scrum SDLC
- Ensure design consistency with development standards and guidelines.
- Produce detailed technical designs that map functional specifications to technology solutions
- Consult in requirement specification process for new software functionality.
- Fulfill the role of a Technical Lead for a Scrum team.
- Develop extensions to our web commerce environment to support a variety of business and commerce needs.
- Develop and leverage tools to manage infrastructure via code.
- Adhere to IS Department policies best practices and work successfully in an Agile/Scrum SDLC
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, or in DevOps, responsible for an enterprise class customer-facing Java- or PHP- based web application.
- Experience in implementing Magento 2.
- Expert level with the following technologies: SQL, Java, Windows / Unix Scripting, Web Services
- Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic, SolarWinds, CloudFlare, App Dynamics to measure the availability and performance of the E-commerce websites
- Experience installing and configuring Solr and/or Elastic Search
- Understanding of Nginx, Apache, Redis, Varnish and web server configuration
- Experience supporting Magento eCommerce applications.
- At least Intermediate level in the following technologies: Data Analysis, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
- Experience in DevOps software development and delivery process in a CI/CD model.
- Exposure to the following technologies: Middleware, SAP or other ERP, ETL
- Experience with Magento platform strongly preferred. We are willing to train the right exceptional candidate for this specialized skill.
- Experience in Agile methodology preferred.
- Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field
- Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced work environment
- Must be highly motivated and dependable with excellent communication and collaboration skills
