Job Title: EDI Production Support Engineer (90-Day contract-to-hire)

Job Location: New York, New York or Rockville, MD or Naperville, IL, or Irving, TX

Job Description
  • Oversee the production support of high-profile EDI trading partners.
    • Monitor the production environment and proactively prioritize, communicate, and resolve any EDI process or system issues.
    • Support any issues that are raised or escalated through Account Management or executive leadership
    • Ability to assess ramification of issues and prioritize tasks based on business impact
    • Ability to evaluate production situations and current information to determine the appropriate course of action and execute decisions
  • Communicate system and interface availability, modifications, and problems to internal and external stakeholders as needed and according to established policies and procedures
    • Offer clear and accurate interpretation of industry-driven changes to internal and external contacts when solicited.
    • Proactively communicate updates to internal and external contacts as regulations dictate
  • Leverage technical expertise and communication skills to monitor production processes, resolve issues quickly and implement process improvements
    • Use access to data and personal observation to identify potential process improvement opportunities.
    • Understand the data and perform data analysis to support building new reports and modify existing reports
    • Partner with Applications Development or other operational areas to successfully implement enhancements or fixes that will provide value to our EDI clients
    • Communicate potential solutions to management.
    • Implement solutions independently or collaboratively.
    • Report progress and measurements of success to management
  • Provide direction to Level I staff.
    • Coach staff needing assistance with production support issues.
    • Help staff learn how to troubleshoot issues and practice effective analytic techniques.
    • Create knowledgebase that can be used for training Level 1 staff
  • Provide coverage for other team members as needed; some on call support duties may be required on a part time or rotating basis.
  • Perform routine and ad hoc analysis of various facets of EDI processing including but not limited to system performance, claim turnaround times, data mapping, and claim volumes. Also support clients and trading partners with their non-standard requests for ad hoc reports, testing analysis and other technical deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  • Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data this role is considered to be a High Risk Role.
  • Qualifications Specific qualifications for the role include:
  • Bachelor s Degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of work experience and technical training
  • 1+ year experience in a technical production or applications support role
  • Basic understanding of at least three items in the below list
    • Mapping Tools (Informatica, Gentran, Pervasive)
    • Relational databases and complex SQL queries.
    • JAVA-J2EE and Oracle Fusion (object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns).
    • Web Services and SOA and related standards such as SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, and BPEL
    • XML technologies and API s such as XSD
    • Tableau
  • Experience researching, constructing, developing, and testing complex SQL and PL/SQL scripts for new reports.
  • Basic understanding of SDLC, multi-tier distributed software architectures, concurrent programming concepts, and multi-threaded applications.
  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in a technical implementation capacity
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to use software, hardware and peripherals related to job responsibilities, including MS Office and software development applications
