To fill in for vacancies created by Packing Machine Attendants when necessary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOBThe main responsibility of this job is to clean the Packing lines and general Packing area. When not performing sanitation duties, must fill in for Packing Machine Attendants which requires the following responsibilities:
Assume sanitation duties as assigned by Management
Able to operate all or some of the Packaging lines
Able to run/operate baggers (Triangle or Rovema)
Clean out baggers when necessary and calibrate to correct weights
Able to run/operate Casepackers (Salwassar or Delkor)
Able to run/operate Cartoners (Jones or Roberts)
Able to operate Douglas on Triscuit lines
Able to operate labelers and set up correct code date
Clear jams and perform minor repairs to line.
Perform general floater duties which require dumping all waste produced on the Packing floor and miscellaneous assignments given by Supervisor.
Operator responsible for performing and documenting all required quality checks in a timely manner and performing rechecks if necessary.
Responsible for calibrating measuring equipment and tracking calibrations as needed as well as handle any follow-ups on corrective actions required.
Utilize various data collection systems, including but not limited to Quality Suites, SAP, ZPI.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB
Make sure all materials (Packing and Raw) being used are correct for SKU running.
Keep casepacker supplied with cases
Keep Douglas supplied with Stretch wrap
Change wrapper paper rolls as needed
Keep cartoners supplied with cartons
Change lining paper rolls as needed
Operator responsible for keeping work area clean
Perform line changeovers
Complete cleaning and sanitation as assigned inside tanks, dust collectors, vessels, bins, etc. requiring the entrance of a Confined Space
Ensure GMP and Housekeeping compliance
Wear appropriate PPE
Perform operating equipment clean up and sanitation when production ends.
Practice Good Communication with other departments, peers, supervisors
Practice Team Concepts
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT
8 hours work/day (unless otherwise noted)
40 hours work/week
25 minutes for lunch
20 minutes for two breaks
Must be able to work over 40 hours in a work week and more than 8 hours in a day, including all required overtime.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe following physical demands are necessary for the Packing Sanitarian to perform daily duties:
Climb steps and ladders
Push/pull weights in excess of 50 lbs
Lift up to 50 lbs and maintain balance
Lift and carry boxes/cartons weighing 35 lbs
Have the agility and strength to manually operate equipment and/or valves as may be necessary in the normal duties of the job
A job function physical analysis is available upon request.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience
At least 2 years manufacturing experience
