Being responsible for the US and Canada Wind Testing commercial activity you play a key role in identifying, expanding and supporting our existing and new potential customers to satisfy their needs in the wind turbine testing area; predominantly power curve, electrical characteristics and mechanical loads testing.The primary responsibility of this new position will be to expand our Wind Turbine Testing business in US and Canada through existing and new clients, as well as to support growth of other parts of the Renewables business as needed.Hence, your job will be to:

Co-develop and execute the business plan to expand the Wind Turbine Testing business in US and Canada in collaboration with the respective service line leaders. Work with different internal teams to form strategy and identify strengths and skills gaps.

Support the team in developing annual revenue and business plans and identify specific growth areas in for our Wind Turbines Testing business in the US and Canada.

Acquire new customers, meet with prospects to understand their purchase decision makers, criteria and needs. This implies active collaboration in broadcasting activities in cooperation with the marketing team.

Establish and maintain a long-term relationship of trust with our customers by means of regular interaction (remote and in person)

Know and being known: Represent UL at industry events, trade fairs and working groups promoting our services to develop commercial opportunities. High visibility within the industry is the natural channel to collect information on the needs of the industry.

Support the development of a network of special service providers and partners, to complement existing UL service services.

Work independently on an international team supporting potential needs in other regions.

This role reports into the UL Renewables commercial team. Ideally, this position will be located in one of our main offices (Northbrook, Albany). However, consideration will be given for other locations, including home office arrangements. You will collaborate with the rest of the Global commercial team and will work closely with other service lines. You will interact directly with UL colleagues from different service lines who operate in a number of time zones. In addition, your supervisor will be in another time zone on another continent. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy working independently and are prepared to structure your daily work tasks. High level of autonomy and proactivity will be required, together with the ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization.We offer continuous training on technical issues as well as communication, management and other fields of personal development. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the renewable industry. In addition, you should possess: University degree in engineering or similar 5-10 years’ experience in the US and Canada renewable industry, ideally in an OEM, operator, Developer or Advisor. Strong Technical background and demonstrated experience related with Wind Turbine testing practices, such as power performance, mechanical loads or electrical characteristics tests. Deep understanding of the renewable project lifecycle. Good knowledge of legal requirements, technical standards and best practices High-performing mindset, positive attitude, self-confidence, ability to adapt to rapid changes and transformations, capacity for team work and constructive collaboration. Strong customer focus and strong interpersonal skills to establish relationships of deep trust with our clients. Ability to sell and to close orders. Ample network of contacts in the Wind Energy Industry. Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally including speaking to broad audiences.
