with a proven track record of accomplishment in the field of cell biology/ biochemistry

to join a team dedicated to the identification and validation of novel targets

related to diseases of aging. The candidate is expected to independently conceive and

execute experimental strategies to lead/support small molecule drug discovery

programs and to develop translational plans. The incumbent will be

responsible for driving innovation and executing a variety of cell biology,

biochemical and genetic approaches including disease model development in

recombinant and primary cell lines, analysis of protein expression by Western

blotting and ELISA, and cell-based application of CRISPR technology and RNAseq

analysis to support multiple projects throughout AbbVie. Applicants

should have extensive laboratory research experience and a desire to continue

in a laboratory-focused role. Strong communication and teamwork skills

are essential as the candidate is expected to operate in a fast-pace

multi-disciplinary environment, interacting with diverse groups of experts

within or outside of his/her scientific discipline.Position will be hired based on level of experience.

Bachelors, Master, or Ph.D. in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field

10-12+ years (BS), 8-10+ years (MS), or 0-3+ (PhD) years post-graduate experience in early drug discovery

Record of scientific achievement (i.e.strong publication and/or patent record) and proficiency in standard biochemical, cellular and molecular techniques

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, matrix-based team environment and strong written and oral communication skills are essential

Previous experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery, translational biology, and metabolic disease and/or mitochondrial biology research is preferred but not required
