Retail Business Project Manager - Merchandising projects

  • Client ( A very well known national Retailer brand ) is in Western suburbs of Chicago
The Retail Alignment Project Manager will be a part of the business project management team,

managing retailer facing projects aligned with Client’s strategic vision. This role will work cross functionally with project stakeholders throughout the company to plan, build, deploy and measure project success at retail. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to use project management techniques to drive project success from inception to successful deployment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain project management plans aligning to strategic company objectives.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome project risks, and produce project updates for the Officer team and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with cross functional project stakeholders and support teams to identify project plan scope, deliverables, risks, resources, budget, and timelines.
  • Manage project stages from plan to measure with cross functional alignment, touch bases and accountability to project objectives and timelines.
  • Identify gaps, risks and follow-up needs for the business teams to continue moving the project towards successful deployment.

Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years in a business project management role (preference given to those with previous program management experience)
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills, Ability to lead indirectly with cross functional support teams and project sponsors
  • Strong ability to create a framework and process for prioritization of competing initiatives across the organization
  • Ability to lead the development of methodology including all project management disciplines: Scope, Integration, Cost, Quality, Communications, Risk and Procurement Management (part of the PM body of Knowledge)
  • Experience/use of software tools available to facilitate the use of the PM methodology
  • Strong knowledge of retail and operational processes
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
  • PMP Certification a plus
