Robert Half is partnering with a company in the Non-Profit industry to find a Database Administrator. If you are an efficient problem solver with highly tuned decision-making skills, this may be the position for you. The Database Administrator will be located in Palatine, Illinois and is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity.Key responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain all relational database instances across development, staging, and production environments- Solve database service outages as they happen during hours, after hours, and on weekends- Minimize false alarms by appropriately configuring database monitoring utilities- Establish the baseline for system performance and detect deviation, suggesting and executing improvements to slow running queries- Make suggestions regarding database design, tuning options, and other potential issues- Confirm that database server topology, configuration, and maintenance meet SLA goals when designed and executed- Figure out the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes Requirements - Oracle DBA experience desired, Banner experience a must have- Expertise in Enterprise Application Integration- Good understanding of relational database management systems- Previous experience in production environments and being on-call- Storage and server hardware experience a plus- 4+ years of database experience- Experience tuning queries to improve performance- Experience developing and supporting documentation Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
