Description:Our client is looking to add a high level resource to help support the enterprise which includes 170 InfoBlox servers and 600,000 DNS records. They have been significantly impacted with increased workload given recent Data Center builds and relocations as well as facility openings/closings. Critical Work Position Performs: This position will address business risk by assisting with DNS Services for implementation of Global Performance Hubs, Data Centers, and Cloud environments. As we move more services to the cloud it is critical to have the entire application communication stack accessible. An outage at a Data Center could cause issues with external DNS resolution, causing cloud based apps to be unavailable to the Internet, Dealer, or Supplier customer base. This analyst will provide a centralized management point for CORE IP network services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM and NTP) sharing data with numerous IT Security tools to allow for a more enhanced and robust ability to protect and respond to malware threats. This analyst will assist in other critical activities include IPV6 Rollout, centralization of DHCP, management/monitoring of core DNS/DHCP integration with Windows Active Directory Service, and Disaster Recovery solutions. Candidate Responsibilities Design/Planning - Requirements Definition, gathering business requirements Identifying optimal solution for the business need - Documenting functional / technical specifications for solution development Proactively managing the infrastructure (security, optimization, utilization, costs) Scripting, Automation, Test Scenarios Level 3 Support Providing expert technical support to facilitate resolution of complex issues Vendor Management Directing 3rd Party providers regarding development, testing, and documentation Providing direction and clarity to resolve issues encountered with solution delivery Ensuring solution delivery meets defined security and architecture standards Communication Working with Cat business partners, GIS peers, and 3rd Party providers Providing regular updates regarding status, risk, issues to BU and GIS leadershipTypical DayWorking with Cat business partners, GIS peers, and 3rd Party providersTechnical Skills DNS/DHCP experience required Familiarity with InfoBlox tools required Troubleshooting experience, desiredBaseline cert. from Infoblox, basic Infoblox classes would be ideal

How DNS forwarding works, how a data zone works and the structure and the type of records?

Similar tools such as BlueCat and an AT&T tool, EDI product experience can translate it well to Infoblox

PERL, VB and Linux Bash Scripting in the environment

Any Windows or Linux Administration would be a plus.

200-300 requests per week, trying to automate as much as they can so they can focus on other projects/more challenging work

Any “Bind” experience or managed “Bind” within DNS servers that would be a good base knowledge to teach other skills
