CLOUD AUTOMATION ENGINEER - Remote

A global professional services organization is seeking an experienced Cloud Automation Engineer to join their team. The company is developing software to deploy cloud capabilities so seeking a Software Engineer who is familiar with the cloud and some of the cloud technologies since we are developing software to deploy cloud capabilities AWS infrastructure and automation. As the Cloud Automation Engineer, you will be designing, developing, and championing an infrastructure as code (IaC) approach at cloud delivery. Looking for someone who is well-versed in Development and is familiar with AWS. You will be working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment, where you will apply Infrastructure as Code solutions and drive platform automation against core platform services supporting all aspects of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions. Excellent communication skills are required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering related field or equivalent work experience

3+ years of software development/coding experience as a Cloud Automation Engineer or DevOps Engineer

Python and/or Javascript experience

Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, S3)

Familiarity with enterprise networking, DNS, Firewalls.

Experience with or willingness to learn Terraform, BitBucket, Puppet, Jenkins and deploying applications on AWS.

Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.

Strong communication skills and language bridging between development team and business stakeholders.

Technical understanding of application design, agile methodologies and SDLC life cycle.

Knowledge of protocols and technologies, including Microservices, SOA, HTTP, SSL/TLS, LDAP, JDBC, SQL, or HTML

Ability to work with and influence software development teams

Demonstrated ability of successfully mentoring and training fellow team members

AWS Certification desired but not required

Experience in automating infrastructure and software delivery pipelines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
