Job Description TITLE: Principal Data Solution ArchitectDUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Principal Data Solution Architect in Riverwoods, IL to define and promote our data-driven culture, providing thought leadership for how we use data across the company. Work across multiple business units, including Business Technology, Data Science, and Analytic groups, as well as Data Engineering to drive innovative and thoughtful improvements to how we leverage data to improve operational efficiency and to build competitive advantage. Advise our Data Engineering teams on best data practices and shape the future landscape of data at Discover, including architecting the databases and data streams to power Discover's core analytic pipelines and processes. Create high-level design documents and detailed specifications, in accordance with company architecture standards. Create new data models as well as improve existing databases and data flows. Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements. Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes. Drive key decisions around how we work with data at Discover, both within the Data organization and for the broader company, including taking ownership of the key database and data warehouse design initiatives. Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related position: performing data integration and CI/CD to design data pipelines and develop architecture artifacts; designing and developing data warehouses; working with Cloud Solution Architecture, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, ETL AbInitio, Jenkins, Terraform, and Big Data tools, including Python and Spark to help modernize the legacy data pipelines and to design the modern data warehouse; utilizing Data Lake and data curation to update Data Lake design and align to use cases; working with data management strategy to introduce and advance modern data management capabilities; and utilizing database technologies, including relational and NoSQL databases.QUALIFIED APPLICANTS: Please apply directly through our website by clicking on "Apply Now."
