Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations/ Project Management, Governance & Reporting

Global Business Services has embarked on a multi-year Journey to the Cloud and this Director role will play a key role in assisting all Wolters Kluwer Business Units in making this transition.

This position provides direct leadership to IT Operations personnel performing Governance & Reporting related activities. This role leans more towards industry best practices in IT project management and an in-depth understanding of hosting & cloud technology vs managing core operations. You will also collaborate with your peers to ensure successful delivery of all ITO projects and critical initiatives. You will also provide meaningful metrics and transparent reporting for operational needs and executive dashboards.This role reports directly to the VP IT Infrastructure & Operations

Some of the things you will create, manage and be responsible for:
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with IT Operations service suppliers; sometimes acting as a liaison between internal staff and the BU internal customers
  • Provides transparent communication on both a strategic and an operational level to BU and GBS personnel
  • Provides direct leadership to IT Governance and Reporting functions within ITO (both internal and third party) in the performance of their responsibilities
  • Prepares and delivers monthly ITO dashboards for executive and divisional consumption. Keeps CIO dashboard updated with latest utilization, performance and compliance data/metrics.
  • Works with GBS peers and Divisions on annual Technology Planning Process (TPP), and divisional VSPs, GBS VSPs and budget
  • Collaborates with his/her peers in IT Operations to define approach, plan, schedule for projects and critical initiatives. Tracks and reports performance. Identifies, escalates and facilitates remediation of critical issues and risks in a timely manner.
  • Gathers and analyzes data & report on performance against operational SLAs & operational and security standards on a periodic basis. Identifies key performance gaps, prepares improvement plans in partnership with his/her peers & tracks and reports on progress.
  • Tracks & reports on all contract resources & SOWs and supports onboarding and offboarding of contract resources for ITO function. Tracks and drive compliances with organizational policies (i.e. time tracking).
The experience we look forward to you having:
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in information technology industry
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in the infrastructure & cloud services either using a shared services model within an internal Infrastructure organization or for a major Infrastructure services supplier.
  • Demonstrated experience staff management, development, and mentoring
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience
  • Experience training, coaching, giving performance feedback, and providing regular evaluation for associates as to the requirements for all team members to achieve success
  • Proven, successful ability to influence Technology Leadership, Product Teams and Supplier Personnel.
  • Ability to influence and drive peer teams to achieve successful outcome for projects and initiatives
  • Ability to use metrics and KPI's to monitor the effectiveness of IT Operations performance and identify areas for further improvement.
  • Exhibited broad technical understanding across each major hosting solutions; traditional, private cloud and public cloud.
  • Bachelor's degree; Strongly preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
