Location: RIVERWOODS, IL

Duration: 3 Months Contract to Hire

Description:
  • The primary responsibilities are to create, maintain and execute automation framework to achieve the requirements of user stories, predominantly on Cloud based, TCP/IP and Restful APIs.
  • There will be opportunities to use modern technologies every single day.
  • Coding and development of Automation tooling infrastructure to improve developer productivity
  • Agile Feature Backlog Grooming, Attendance at all ceremonies + contribution to User Story refinement and estimation
  • Contribute towards the automation framework + related tools and data sets
  • Writing test requirements documentation as required
  • contribute to Application Development code and unit testing when and where required as per team needs

Required Attributes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent
  • Clear and effective written and verbal English, with an analytical eye for detail
  • This position will require the candidate to perform a wide variety of tasks.
  • A degree of creativity and flexibility with regard to technology is expected.
  • Multiple years professional experience as a developer or developer in test

Expected to be technically proficient in some of (but not necessarily all) the following general areas:
  • 4+ years of Core Java Object Orientated Programming
  • Analysis and testing of Restful APIs, both functionally and non-functionally
  • UNIX/Linux (command line and shell scripting)
  • IntelliJ, Eclipse or Spring Tool Suite (STS)
  • JSON processing and validation
  • Test Driven Development (JUnit)
  • CI with Jenkins
  • Repository management with GitHub
  • Understanding of Agile/SCRUM

Experience with some of the following technologies or practices is beneficial:
  • Network/Socket testing and automation experience
  • ATDD or BDD via Gherkin, Cucumber or an equivalent tool (Preferred)
  • AWS or a Cloud application Experience
  • K8/Docker application development experience
  • Functional and non-functional software testing techniques, tools and standards
  • Spring Cloud Contract Testing
  • Working in distributed teams
  • Scaled Agile Framework
  • Financial/Payment Services
  • 4+ years of Core Java Object Orientated Programming
  • Network/Socket testing and automation experience
  • ATDD or BDD via Gherkin, Cucumber or an equivalent tool (Preferred)
  • AWS or a Cloud application Experience
