JOB SUMMARY:

2nd Shift

The Quality Inspector is responsible aiding production to ensure components, assemblies and processes meet requirements. This includes inspection of production materials, as well as engineering or unreleased product.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Samples, inspects and tests components, assemblies and systems.

· Audits processes for conformance to requirements, this may also include 5S.

· Performs set up and inspection of complex materials, assemblies or product.

· Works with suppliers and other groups inspecting and determining the disposition of materials.

· Supports MRB, ensuring proper segregation, identification and disposition of discrepant material.

· Facilitates, creates and updates inspection documentation as needed.

· Reviews inspection documentation accompanying material to ensure compliance to requirements.

REQUIRED:

· Statistical Techniques including: General Concepts (sampling, distributions, etc) ,Calculations (CpK, PpK, PPM, etc) and Control Charts.

· Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)

· Reading and Interpretation of technical drawings (practical application, GD&T)

· Inspection concepts, techniques and processes (use of methodologies and equipment)

· Audits including: Audit Types, Audit Components, and Tools and Techniques.

· Knowledge of basic computer skills for data entry and to operate testing equipment.

· Ability to read and comprehend work instructions utilized to assemble HVAC units.

· Ability to properly complete/audit assembly related documentation including First Piece Inspection form, deviations, quality alerts and red tag process.

· Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED:

· ASQ certified Quality Inspector with knowledge of 5S and one piece flow.

· Related experience in a manufacturing environment (>3 years) and/or some college or training.

· Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma principles or advanced manufacturing experience.

· Previous experience with sheet metal, electronic and plastic components.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· High school education or equivalent.

· Intermediate reading and math skills (report writing, algebraic and geometrical calculations).
