Operations Manager Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Lead teams of performance supervisors in a dynamic operational environment, to consistently exceed established goals, demonstrate a commitment to customers and a dedication to excellence and innovation.

-Develop forward-looking plans and turn those plans into successful execution.

-Effectively manage resources to achieve operational excellence and meet or exceed the site financial operating plan.

-Implement and maintain an incident free safety culture at the operation.

-Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives.

-Establish and sustain that we recruit, hire, train, develop and retain quality team members.

-Establish and sustain effective, two-way communication that informs and motivates as well as recognizes excellence among team members

-Establish and sustain strong and effective relationships with associates, the customer, and supporting departments. Meet or exceed all customer key performance metrics and objectives

-Interact daily with local customer to ensure existing and emerging customer needs are understood

-Lead team to identify operational improvements in all areas

-Communicates with SIMOS AGM on matters of employee discipline, safety, vacations, attendance and policy related matters. Ensures training staff is in place and associates receive proper documented training. Provide End of Shift reportingPreferred Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, Finance or a Business related / analytical field is preferred)

-Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory management, logistics, distribution. Preference to candidates with 3PL operations experience.

-Strong leadership, interpersonal, analytical, follow-up and organizational skills.

-Comfortability working cross-functionally with internal and external business partners.

-Proven track record of maintaining compliance with customer/contractual expectations

-Superior decision making and problem solving skills

-Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

-Strong PC skills – high proficiency with Microsoft Office

-Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience training and supervising people
