Job Description:

Controls Engineers develop automation solutions and participate in various phases of automation projects including creating design specifications, software configuration and testing, as well as commissioning and start-up of a variety of high speed and other automated manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and design automation control systems and create project documentation and drawings to meet client requirements.
  • Diagnose automation problems and interact with teams, clients and vendors.
  • Configure software and hardware packages according to client design specification.
  • Program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell) and HMI / SCADAs (FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition)
  • Communicate with project stakeholders the progress relative to plan
  • Manage engineering projects as assigned
  • Manage project deliverables to agreed schedule and scope
  • Manage site construction and installation
  • Manage site start-up support of integrated control systems
  • Validate and commission facility systems following established execution protocols and ensure a successful turnover of the system to the customer.

Requirements:
  • Co-Op/internship, part-time, full-time employment, or project experience related to engineering, consulting, programming, process design, drafting, or architecture are a plus
  • Experience in food/dairy, high speed beverage/brewery, pharmaceutical, medical device, advanced technology, oil & gas, or consumer products industries is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campcommunity service activities is preferred
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit, SolidWorks, or 3D facility modeling software is preferred (either academic or professional)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Power Point, Word, and Excel and basic understanding of project management fundamentals
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to: project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.
