Each day will offer new challenges and you will also earn one day off for each day of worked time.This position will be based in Romeoville, IL.

Make and break barge tows following safe operating procedures.

Handle equipment and transport materials to various docks, via water transportation.

Willingness and ability to work in a dusty and outdoor environment throughout the year.

Commitment to safety policy regarding unsafe working behavior.

Perform additional duties as assigned by vessel captain or management.

Maintain cleanliness of work area.

Follow Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Maintain an awareness of environmental standards. Take corrective action to address minor problems or report compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution.

Who we are looking for:

Must be able to lift in excess of 75 lbs. during a normal shift.

Must be willing to work on the waterway for up to 30 consecutive days, living aboard the vessel.

Must be able to enter small dark areas such as hatches and be able to climb horizontal and vertical ladders into and onto barges.

Complies with all federal, state and local guidelines.

Previous experience in the barge towing industry preferred.

US Coast Guard regulated vessel experience is a plus.

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
