Position Summary

The Advanced Data Analyst - Data Quality is responsible for working with both structured and unstructured data sets to provide business insights and recommendations to improve the quality of the Wintrust data leveraging industry standard analytical approaches and technologies. The successful candidate should be to able work in a team environment, has experience mentoring more junior level staff members and leading less complex projects.

Key Accountabilities
  • Gather, structure, and analyze data from multiple complex data sources into actionable business insights using industry standard analytical tools and technologies.
  • Work with data to help the organization make better business decisions driven by data.
  • Partner with the business to identify the appropriate data sources and analysis methodology to meet business needs.
  • Presenting the results of the data analysis, as well as recommendations, to management and process owners.
  • Identifying hidden use cases from complex unstructured datasets and come up with useful insights.
  • Seeks opportunities to deliver continuous process improvement, automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery
  • Pursues self-development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information, and knowledge with coworkers and customers.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in data analysis or data quality within complex data environments, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a data quality or data analyst role or similar roles requiring strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with SQL statistical applications, such as SQL and/or SAS.
  • Expert level SQL skills and experience working with large data sets.
  • Proficient in the manipulation and use of large complex databases.
  • Strong understanding of database and data warehouse concepts and structures.
  • Strong quantitative skills with a proven ability to translate analysis into meaningful insights.
  • Has experience working with Data Warehouse, Data Governance, MDM and BI systems.
  • Strong analytical skills related to working with structured and unstructured data sets.
  • Experience working on Banking and Financial domain is preferred.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies and solving hard problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment and interacting with data professionals and business data SME's throughout the organization
  • Desire to work in a fast growing environment with strong time management ability
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
