AVP, Information SecurityDescriptionZurich is currently searching for an AVP, Information Security to work in our Information Security team out of our Zurich North America Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. This leadership position will report directly to the ZNA Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Managerial responsibilities will include working with the team’s analysts and senior analysts and supporting a subset of CISO responsibilities.The AVP, Information Security manager will assist in the development and oversight of policies and programs intended for mitigation of information security risks related to the protection of systems and data consistent with local, regional, and global strategies. The ideal candidate has prior experience in the area of risk assessments, vulnerability management, identity and access management, application security, cloud security controls, perimeter protection, security awareness, third party assessments, communicating risks at an executive level, and people management skills.This role provides thought leadership and collaborates with the CISO in creating strategic direction while setting tactical direction, maturing Zurich’s information security program, and managing a team of security professionals. Defining and reporting on metrics will be a key component as this role will act as a backup to the CISO.The AVP, Information Security manager will also identify risks and oversee projects that reduce risks, assesses security maturity, and conduct internal risks assessments while coaching and developing the security team. In addition, this team will partner with local stakeholders in functions such as Privacy, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit, and other business areas. To be successful in this role the candidate will need to engage and influence across global, local and supplier teams.High Level Influencer Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on influencing or negotiating with a broad range of internal clients, specifically executives and/or senior management. Expectation of the need to employ specialized techniques and substantial experience. Relationships typically involve persuading or countering opposition.Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaOR

Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice, including Cyber Security Certification and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

OR

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

AND

MS Office experience

Experience in Cyber Security operations

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong people management experience

Knowledge of cyber security functions (Incident Response, Application Security, Threat Defense, Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence)

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of information security concepts, tools, trends and practices

Experience with IT security risk assessments, vendor management and audits

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with Azure Security Center and Amazon Web Services security configurations

Project management experience

Experience with leading projects, engaging stakeholders and driving stakeholder management

Active security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CISA

Experience with privacy or data security regulations such as NYDFS Cyber, SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.

Experience with IT governance or security frameworks such as NIST CSF, COBIT, ISO 27001, etc.

Ability to work across business units and geographical boundaries to engage team members
