DescriptionWe have a new opportunity for a Mailroom Assistant with an organization in the Schaumburg, Illinois area. The Mailroom Assistant chosen for this thriving company will be receiving and sorting mail and packages in a centralized room before distributing the items to appropriate departments and individuals. Candidates should also be prepared to be responsible for managing and maintaining physical and digital mail-sorting systems. This long-term temporary-to-full-time employment opportunity is based in the Schaumburg, Illinois area.Major responsibilities
Secure data within allotted time frames
Run clerical tasks like word processing, filing, scanning, archiving, and faxing
Purchase high volume of letters, memoranda, invoices, and other indexed documents within specified guidelines
Help employees complete diverse projects as necessary
Obviate assembly errors by maintaining an organized work station
Document, batch, and/or distribute mail and packages
Attain and sort all incoming mail and packages from various carriers
Use mail processing equipment
Manage optimal machine performance by troubleshooting simple problems (clearing jams, refilling toner, replacing machine oil, etc.)
Requirements
Prepared to handle office equipment
Carry through general clerical operations tasks that are routine and/or repetitive in nature
Ability to meet deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in mail processing at organizational level
If you can demonstrate that you are flexible and focused, this position is for you
1+ years of prior experience working in a high-volume mailroom setting
General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Adeptness in ordering office supplies and equipment
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in mailrooms
Email experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word
Mail processing experience
navigating basic office equipment and protocols experience
Able to manage time well
