We pride ourselves on moving through processes quickly, and you can be sure of transparency and prompt communication throughout.SHIFT:2nd Shift: Mon - Fri, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PMSUMMARY:Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as conveyor systems, machine tools, metal fabricating machine tools, lubrication systems and production equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Assists and directs other maintenance employees with problem solving equipment failures.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training requirements as listed in Federal Mogul Skokie EHSSP0006 and EHHSP0048 control documents for maintenance employees.

Follows safety rules, participates in safety meetings, notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions and events hazardous to others and the environment.

Completes paperwork correctly and legibly.

Maintains work area in a safe manner.

Visually inspects and listens to machines to locate causes of malfunction.

Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.

Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.

Suggests and makes changes to equipment.

Operates a variety of lifting equipment to move, install, and modify parts and equipment.

Ability to fabricate and modify complex equipment.

Trains other mechanics and apprentices.

Ability to work under less than perfect conditions such as outside in inclement weather for extended periods of time.

Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement.

Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve.

Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement.

Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Required SkillsCOMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Knowledgeable of facility layout, building numbers locations, etc.

C. literate to complete safety required CBT.

Technical skills to operate hand and power tools to work safely in a maintenance environment.

Able to work independently of others with minimal supervision.

Ability to read and understand instructions at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.

Ability to read and write well enough to perform mathematical calculations required repairing and fabricating equipment.

Ability to fabricate and modify complex equipment.

Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.

Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information verbally over the phone and written with a variety of staff.

Works with a high degree of skill and experience.

Trains other mechanics and apprentices.

Licensed lift truck driver.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.

Ability to walk and move about, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb (ascend and descend) ladders, and work in stationary positions for long periods of time

Normal or corrected vision necessary to read directions and closely examine parts and distinguishes colors.

Normal hearing to detect equipment malfunctions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in areas that are uncomfortable, hot, cold, dirty, dusty, noisy, for extended periods of time.

Works regularly with machines where carelessness could result in cuts bruises burns, muscle pulls, etc.
