You’ll partner with the Engineering team and external vendors to create, prototype, test, and troubleshoot new and existing packaging taking into consideration the physical characteristics of the item, any special handling, and environmental and safety requirements. You’ll have a creative side to help in packaging creation but a practical side that understands cost, lead time, quality, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and global sustainability requirements.To qualify, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering and 2-5 years of experience in the design and development of industrial or consumer packaging. You’ll be comfortable multi-tasking, have a sense of urgency, a results orientation and have a firm grasp of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards. You’ll need some technical skills with 3D CAD software, graphical tools (i.e. Adobe Illustrator), and MSOffice software. And, of course, this is a team sport so great communications skills, relationship building skills and a desire to win are also important.
