Job Description
Supervise two to four personnel.
Plan, direct and coordinate activities of employees and volunteers. Assist employees in performance of duties when needed. Ensuring duties are carried out with humanity and professionalism.
Prepare and maintain written standard operating procedures for animal control operations.
Prepare and submit budgets, reports, employee payroll/time sheets, accounts payables for the department.
Train and ensure necessary continued education of employees. Ensure adherence to established safety procedures andmonitor work environment.
Present reports and information to commissioners on matters concerning animal control.
Manage complaint calls; securing cooperation of animalowners to comply with laws; enforces laws regarding care and treatment of animals.
Oversee investigations and inspections of citations and warnings from Animal Control Officers in a timely manner.
Represent Union County Animal Control in any court of law dealing with animal control issues with assistance from the State's Attorney. May testify in legal proceedings regarding citations for violation of animal control laws and ordinances.
Work with County Treasurer toreceiveand record fees and make bank deposits.
Oversees the County's animal adoption program.
Oversee and manage after hour and weekend emergency calls and respond as necessary.
Qualifications
High school or equivalent (required)
Valid driver's license (required)
Working with the public, 2 years (preferred)
Supervisory, 2 years (required)
Additional Information
$12,500 through 11/30; $18,000 starting 12/1
