Our 103,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.Exciting opportunity to join Abbott’s IT organization to partner with the business to drive their “One Abbott Procurement” vision and help to set the strategic IT direction in support of that vision.Core Job Responsibilities:The program manager will coordinate all planning and execution efforts in support of a multi-year global procurement implementation. In this role, you will work closely with the business and other team members to manage all IT activities, develop schedules and budgets, coordinate resources (internal & external), manage issues and risks, and consistently report/communicate status.Job Duties:

Responsible for development and execution of detailed project plans to achieve overall program goals.

Works with Strategic Business and Executive IT management to establish project goals and business case. Helps set strategic IT direction.

Lead, coordinate and/or participate on cross-functional team activities from planning phase through implementation phases.

Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or senior/executive management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution

Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget

Leads project managers and teams in developing and executing a program plan ensuring that authorized resources are obtained to make certain that all activities are performed. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.

Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division, Cross Division and Executive management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues.

Coordinate resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders

Manages Programs /projects at the division or enterprise level.

Manage Project Managers

Excellent communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science or related discipline

At least 12 yrs. experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 9 years managing projects
