We are looking for
Linux Administrator for our client in Waukegan, IL Job Title: Linux Administrator Job Location: Waukegan, IL Job Type: Contract Job Description: Responsibility and Tasks:- This position requires a person having 10+ years of relevant expertise in the given technology areas.
- The key competencies should include excellent knowledge and skills with various platforms like Red Hat Linux, SuSE Linux, VMware, AIX, and Solaris.
- Candidates will need to demonstrate strong prioritization, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detail-oriented, and versed in basic project management methodologies and terminologies.
- Candidates should be able to quickly understand and resolve issues, mitigate risks and dependencies, and the ability to drive projects and resources to complete.
- Work closely with Leadership to drive execution of Objectives and Key Results.
- Knowledge of Data Centre Hardware i.e. Servers & storage Understanding how to Configure, install, repair, and troubleshoot issues related to servers & Storage equipment.
- Knowledge of Asset and Infrastructure Change Management processes within the Data Center.
- SME in Red Hat Linux Operating system with Strong Virtualization knowledge with VMWare and/or Azure.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communications, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of ITIL process and concepts.
- Excellent knowledge of Solaris 11 Operating system, zones, ZFS, and Zpool.
- Good knowledge of the Azure Cloud platform.
- Configure and implement Redhat cluster can/pacemaker.
- Good understanding of SAN storage LUNS administration on Linux.
- Good knowledge of SAN and NAS Storage, RAID, and LVM Management.
- Drive automation and service improvement efforts.
- Excellent Shell or Perl script writing skills.
- Able to learn new technologies as needed and open to changing technological direction as required by the team to lead new projects and initiatives.
- Good understanding of DevOps tools like Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Good understanding of HP Proliant Hardware for identifying hardware failures from Linux CLI and performing firmware upgrades.
- Excellent knowledge of YUM/Satellite Server.
- Should be able to resolve complex issues and provide technical solutions as per industry best practices.
- Understanding configuration management tools (BladeLogic, Ansible, etc.)
- Patch & Package management, Security, Server hardening, etc.
- User Management, Performance Analysis, capacity planning, and monitoring.
- Effectively troubleshoot Hardware and Operating system-related issues.
- Should be able to drive the critical issues and effectively communicate over the calls.
- Experience in Server Management (Server build/ migration, etc.)
- Should have used any backup management software i.e. Commvault, TSM.
- Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems software and related hardware.
- Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines.
- Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects.
- Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures.
