The division advances patient care with diagnostic solutions to improve disease detection and management, and simplify laboratory operations.The Regional Blood Bank (BB) Technical Manager is the North America (NA) Immunohematology (IH) Sales Team’s Blood Bank expert representing the technical features and benefits of the Grifols IH and BGG (Blood Group Genotyping) products and services. In partnership with the Area Sales Director leads technical discussions and ensures go live processes achieve customer satisfaction.Major Accountabilities:

Provides consultation with: Instrument method validation, customer’s SOPs, customer go-live phases and deadlines, presentations to MDs, staff training, QA review, and data assimilation.

Consults with new customers to ensure correct assay reporting results are achieved

Partners as the technical manager with the sales reps in leading :

Technical sales presentations

Product demonstrations at customer sites, conferences and tradeshows

Technical discussions for both automation and reagent performance and integration.

Laboratory workflows that align with the Grifols product strategy.

Collaborates as the technical manager providing the North America Marketing Team with the:

Customer input for the development of products and services

Guidance in developing customer programs

Leadership with the rollout of new products, services and programs

Collaborates with Medical Affairs by:

Reviewing research findings and papers with customers

Coordinating and supporting Grifols sponsored studies

Builds relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL) and medical directors

Develops speaker networks and reference sites

Identifies and compiles key studies to drive the business strategies

Partners with sales to manage successful customer evaluations

Advocates for Grifols products and services within the region

Account management

Is the customer SPOC with technical issues that have exhausted normal support protocols through Technical Support and Field Service issues.

Steps as the technical lead during critical impact implementations such as software upgrades that enhance product quality and/or mitigate high risk compliance risk in alignment with FDA regulations.

Provides technical training and expertise with customer installations.

Is the technical resource with hospitals, blood donor centers, large and corporate IDN account management

Additional Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains technical proficiency.

Provides trending feedback and leadership with in-house teams to ensure best practice transformational changes are implemented.

Interacts with all levels of Grifols staff fostering teamwork and proactive communication.

Assists with special projects, and duties as required.

Education:Must have a B.S. in life sciences, Medical Technologist, CLMA, SBB (Preferred)Experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in laboratory or blood banking/ transfusion diagnostics or in a similar position

Demonstrates proficiency with Immunohematology and blood banking management and molecular blood group genotyping

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrates a high level of organizational, communication, and leadership skills to effectively interface with all levels of the customer’s organization, Grifols and key partners.

Resourceful and collaborative as a team member with minimal supervision

Key Performance Indicators:

Successfully supports newly installed instrument customers facilitating the validation process to go live

Develop strong relationships with key customers and KOL’s as references for Grifols

Ability to understand and successfully articulate clearly the Grifols IH and BGG product and services value proposition to customers and technical buyers

Successfully communicates at all levels internally and externally in support of commercial messaging
