This As-needed/reserve position is within a dedicated Vascular Surgery outpatient ultrasound lab with locations at both Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL and Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. The lab operates Monday-Friday, day shift only, no call, no weekends. The lab serves both the clinic providers and other providers from the NM Regional Medical Group and encompasses a broad range of vascular studies in a dynamic setting.The Vascular Sonographer role includes the following duties:Demonstrates independent judgment in performing two dimensional ultrasonic recordings of peripheral vascular systems for the diagnosis of disease.Evaluates the request for vascular ultrasound services and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol and methods of application.Utilize equipment and accessories, employ techniques and procedures, perform services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice to obtain ultrasound imagingEngage patient prior to, during and subsequent to the procedure in order to reduce the patient’s anxiety and enhance his/her comfort zone with respect to tolerance of the procedure.Participates in instruction and clinical supervision of students enrolled in an approved ultrasound program.Participates in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.Monitors stock of supplies in imagining rooms to assure their regular availability by timely reordering, rotation of dated items, and by maintenance of a clean and orderly environment.Reports incidences of equipment failure, irregularities in equipment performance, and equipment in disrepair to supervisor
