Job Description - Enterprise Data Analyst (EDA) Internship

The person in this position will be part of the TMHNA IT Business Administration and Strategy Team located in Columbus, Indiana. The position will involve understanding how the business processes and requirements are implemented within the corporate IT landscape. These responsibilities will support the enterprise goals of adopting the next generation of digital technologies and services.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop reports, data visualizations, and data structures for our financial and product teams in support of TMHNA IT's Data and Analytics Strategy
  • Work closely with various business team members to gather requirements and develop IT solutions supporting enterprise processes, such as:
    • Working with the Pricing Team to reduce discount recommendation processing time and craft discounting decision visualizations
    • Establishing automation and supporting a foundational data layer that enables the Financial Planning and Valuation Team to perform operational reporting to executive leadership
    • Activating FinOps within various data environments to enable value association with measured and collected data
  • Monitor data services closely for potential scaling concerns, security vulnerabilities or instability
  • Map process flows (BPM) to identify areas of security and controls risk, while incorporating the CIA triad
  • Review the TMHNA Data strategy and identify gaps within TMHNA's current data ingestion and architecture
  • Learn about various IT systems, operations, and functional roles by working closely with various subject matter experts
  • Provide innovative reports, data visualizations, and analysis to organization and leadership

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong database skills (T-SQL, MYSQL, etc)
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (O365) products e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Power BI, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Familiarity with BPMN in regards to business process mapping
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work within a team and demonstrate a growth mindset
  • Experience designing and implementing data structures to support reporting tools
  • Experience moving data using ELT Tools

Preferred Experience:

  • Completed undergraduate level courses in Information Systems or related discipline, (a Masters Degree is preferred)
  • Moderate understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc)
  • Experience in scripting languages (PHP, Python, PowerShell)Familiarity with SAP systems
