What does a great Sr Application Developer do?

As a member of the Fiserv Education team, the Sr Application Developer will create and evolve technology to service student loans. You will take high-level strategy and work closely with the business and IT teams to develop an efficient and comprehensive solution that performs well, is flexible, maintainable and compliant with all state and federal regulations. You will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (architecture and conceptual design, requirements analysis, high level design, detailed design, coding, unit test, integration and system, user and performance level test). Additionally, you can look forward to using various methodologies including agile and waterfall. It is common for multiple projects to run concurrently requiring the ability to multi-task along with managing multiple organizational efforts.

Basic qualifications for consideration:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing enterprise, full lifecycle solutions using Java, Linux and relational databases
  • Experience in defining and developing high-volume, horizontally scalable architectures.
  • Experience evaluating new technologies for their appropriateness to proposed solutions, including assessing their strategic and/or tactical benefit. .
  • Capable of defining / implementing both business & operational performance metrics into the application solutions.

Preferred qualifications for consideration:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with C#.Net, Windows 2016, MVC.Net, ASP.NET, .Net 4.5 frameworks, IIS web server, HTML5 / CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, jQUERY 3.5
  • SQL Server/Oracle - experience with SQL databases, able to write complex SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Microsoft Enterprise Library 5.
  • SOAP and RESTFul Services
  • JSON / RESTful Service Development
  • Strong knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns
  • Understanding of Data modeling and database design
  • Experience with Jira / Bitbucket / Nexus / SaltStack is a plus
  • Experience working with NPM, NODE, Splunk, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins and Salt
  • A solid understanding of Student Loan servicing
