The Sterling Group, an award-winning property management developer, is seeking an experienced Superintendent for The Astral at Auburn, a Senior Care Facility located in our Auburn, IN.

Our Superintendent is primarily responsible for the following:

Coordinate and supervise all construction activities as outlined in Sterling Construction Policies and Procedures, including management of all Sterling Constructions labor force on the construction site.

Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications. Responsible for the timely competition and delivery of all apartment units

Maintain construction schedule, work with Project Manager to identify and solve problems.

Lead weekly meeting with all Subcontractors. Prepare schedules, document work flow and communicate critical path items to the field.

Anticipate and document the ordering of materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.

Responsible to manage the Quality Control process is being executed consistently with the Policies & Procedures manual.

Comply with the objectives of the OSHA Safety and Loss Control Program. Promote and ensure job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately.

Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other colleagues by adhering to Sterlings Mission Statement and Guiding Principles.

Set up and maintain an organized job site, including the construction office/trailer.

Adhere to established Sterling emergency policies and procedures.

Attend staff meetings, workshops, corporate seminars, and assigned training.

Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Perform all the above and other related duties as assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies

Our Superintendent must have the following qualifications:

Bachelor or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred

Minimum 3 years as Superintendent for Elder Care/Assisted Living or Healthcare Facilities

Minimum of 10 years hands on field experience with slab on grade and wood framed construction to include major site development

Minimum of 5 years of multi-family construction and supervision with job hard costs more than $15 million

Project Management/Superintendent experience with under-ground earth work, under-ground utilities, concrete, and building construction

Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and recognize and address work related issues as they occur

Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and shop drawings

Ability to comprehend and communicate budget impacts based on decision making

Must have digital proficiency in MS Office products, for example but not limited to: writing emails, uploading, file sending and sharing photos, PDFs, etc.

Experience in Procore is preferred but not required

Proficiency in Spanish beneficial but not required

Local to the Auburn/Fort Wayne region a considerable advantage. As part of the application, please note the willingness to travel for future projects in the Region (within 200 miles).

Regular travel ability is required
