Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is accepting applications for a clinical pharmacy specialist in emergency medicine. Position Details: The clinical specialist will provide direct patient care in the emergency department. The ED has 60 beds including 4 Trauma rooms and an 8 bed Clinical Decision Unit and has over 54,000 visits annually. Pharmacy has been providing clinical services to the Emergency Department full time on evening shift. We are need of a replacement specialist for evenings. Technicians work with the pharmacists focused on completing medication histories and participate in developing the best possible medication lists. This allows the pharmacist to focus on clinical services while overseeing optimal patient admissions and transitions of care. This position affords the opportunity to develop close relationships with physicians, nurses, and other care providers. Parkview Health has provided specialty pharmacy services in a variety of areas for over 20 years. This pharmacist will participate in pharmacy-based projects and multidisciplinary committees, and will precept student pharmacists and PGY1 residents. We have 27 ground ambulances, 1 critical care transport unit, and a transport ambulance for inter-facility transfers. In addition to the medical and surgical populations, it also has specialty centers for cardiac, orthopedics, oncology, and women’s and children’s services. Parkview Pharmacy has provided advanced pharmacy services in a variety of areas for decades. Parkview offers a progressive pharmaceutical care environment in a variety of practice settings, including inpatient pharmacy, interdisciplinary rounding, ambulatory specialty clinics, a surgical/critical care satellite pharmacy, cancer satellite pharmacy, and specialty pharmacy. Position Qualifications: Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution and have completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency. A PGY2 residency in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine (or equivalent experience) is highly preferred. Pharmacy licensure or eligibility in Indiana is required.
