Job Description

The

Area/Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and administration of programs/services and new development in an assigned geographic area of the state. This includes budget development and implementation, rate negotiation, licensing, strategic evaluation and planning, staff development, hiring and supervision of program directors and assigned support staff, policy development, marketing, and proposal development.

  • Proactive oversight for all assigned area legal, contractual and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Oversees internal and external audit processes.
  • Communicates changes in policy and procedures
  • Implements agency and state quality assurance programs.
  • Initiates and performs activities to ensure compliance with Dungarvin mission, strategic goals, and Dungarvin quality standards
  • Implements and analyzes persons served/staff incident tracking systems
  • Completes fiscal analysis of new and existing business
  • Establishes good relationships with outside agencies, community involvement, and civic organizations
  • Develops internal and/or external business per strategic plan
  • Operates as liaison between new business opportunities and state development team
  • Negotiates and develops contracts with outside agencies
  • Communicates and role-models the company's mission, values, goals
  • Communicates operating philosophy and system information updates, and strategic direction
  • Builds and supports the area team
  • Monitors and supports direct reports in professional development and growth
  • Develops, oversees and analyzes budgets
  • Troubleshoots problem area as they develop in a timely manner
  • Implements fiscal processes and loss control programs to ensure appropriate allocation of financial resources
  • Assures appropriate staffing to minimize overtime
  • Oversee/participate in the hiring process of all assigned positions in accordance with Dungarvin policy and local, state, and federal employment law
  • Ensure the implementation of programs to evaluate, recognize, and develop employees as well as a positive work environment
  • Ensure all staff receives training and supervision as needed to meet performance expectations
  • Ensure human resources policies and practices are followed
  • Promotes a learning environment at all levels
  • Reports on the operation key indicators
  • Develops financial and quality goals for assigned area, which contribute to the overall State-level goals
  • Oversees all efforts toward achievement of regional, state, and company objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Human Services field with 4 years of progressive management experience required. Experience in residential services preferred

  • Bachelors degree in education, social work or in human services.

  • Must be able to meet Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDP) qualifications, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be willing to work flexible hours.

  • Appropriate business license as required by State Law

  • Prior experience providing support and services to individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Must possess sound decision-making and communication skills; be responsible, professional, and flexible.
