Scientific Technician Indianapolis, INKelly Services is currently seeking Scientific Technician for one of our top clients in Indianapolis, IN.Duration: 3 monthsWork Schedule: 8AM – 5PMPay Rate: $50/hr - $53/hr depending on experienceThe Scientific Technician placed by Kelly Services will be responsible for performing tests and analyzes results per written procedure or protocol to resolve technical issues with current or modified product configurations. Execute simple to moderately complex experiments and analyze results. Participate on teams assigned by supervisor in failure investigations, process improvements, and production processes.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform research assignments in a laboratory with provided direction
Execute experiments that employ molecular biology tools commonly used for NGS library preparation and sequencing, PCR, qPCR, dPCR, and nucleic acid extraction
Maintain and adhere to standard precaution procedures in a BSL-2 laboratory
Prepare and present scientific reports for supervisor to inspect
REQUIREMENTS::BS in Biology, Chemistry or related field with 1 or more years of experience in a research setting preferably with previous molecular biology/ NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) experience
Most tasks require prior knowledge and hands-on use of NGS library preparation and sequencing, PCR, nucleic acid extraction procedures commonly used for molecular biology applications.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft EXCEL and Word.
Must be self-motivated and action oriented with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
Preferences but not requiredPlasmid primer design experience
Flow cytometer and/or analytical ultracentrifugation experience
