Description If you're looking to further your career as a Staff Accountant, the innovative team at Robert Half is currently offering a permanent opportunity that you might be interested in. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.Major responsibilitiesIn-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request Requirements - Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Knowledge of Ledger Journal Entries
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
