Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation by providing tools, training and interpretation of Quality Standards to the production team.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to Manufacturing Superintendent.

Accountabilities

  • Provide support to department inspection positions assuring understanding and recognition of defects
  • Interact with key stakeholders in the identification and resolution of product quality problems
  • Assure quality process inputs are documented in standard operation sheets
  • Lead and track daily/weekly operational metrics (X-Rite readings, PPM, QA boards, North Star, OOCA, OBKA, color checks, etc.)
  • Participate in the Customer Complaint Analysis
  • Support plant operations as needed to interpret specifications and solve problems
  • Support the Plant Quality System by performing tasks to ensure compliance and initiate continuous improvement of the system
  • Periodically review specifications and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) etc. for accuracy and revisions
  • Perform layered process audits as scheduled and work towards resolution of open item
  • Perform root cause analysis and participate in corrective action processing of quality issues
  • Provide support to production team members assuring production goals are met
  • Lead and record activities for Quality Round Table meetings (bi-weekly)
  • Provide training/coaching on quality related issues to production team members and management
  • Lead and/or participate in Kaizen improvement events
  • Provide leadership level support in the absence of department supervisors
  • Report out on projects using the A3 project management process / format
  • Exhibit and enforce the MBCI Safety Awareness culture
  • Consistently demonstrate theSix for Success: be trustworthy, commit to your team, listen to understand, serve your customer, deliver the result, and prepare and plan
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion

Characteristics & Attributes

  • Software knowledge: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to apply and interpret statistical data
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and function in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills – listening, verbal, written and presentation
  • Must have the ability to actively initiate, lead and participate in problem solving activities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to pass color testing
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is minimally required
  • Experience with quality systems is preferred
  • Knowledge ofMBCI quality standards and specification is preferred
