Job Description

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

A Behavior Clinician will provide behavior support services to individuals with developmental disabilities in designated agency programs, as well as in Waiver services. This is a great career opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others.

HOURS:

  • Role has flexibility of where you start and flex your schedule
  • Traditionally hours are anywhere: 830am- 5pm Monday-Friday
  • Possibility of allowing one day of remote work

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Behavioral Clinician can observe person served in home, day program, vocational setting, etc. Candidate may interview staff, conduct group meetings, attend group outings, talk with other vendors, doctor's appointments, etc. In what ever fashion they desire to gather needed information to cultivate or modify plans as they desire.
  • Behavioral Clinician will be assessing behavioral strengths/needs for our individuals served
  • Writing Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) specific to individual needs
  • Making periodic visits to the individual's home to observe implementation of the plan
  • Training staff on implementation of the plan and assessing implementation of the plan
  • Monitoring ongoing individual behavioral issues
  • Coordinating behavioral training/needs assessments

  • Ability to communicate and train staff on diagnosis's, plan objectives and goals.
  • Exposure to Mental Health and Development Disabilities a plus
  • Ability to enjoy a different setting, and a different schedule EVERDAY!

Qualifications

Qualifications

To be approved to provide behavioral support services as a Level 2 clinician, an applicant shall meet the following requirements: Either: have a master’s degree in:

Clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology; special education; social work; or counseling

OR

  • Be a licensed marriage and family therapist licensed under IC 25-23
  • Be a licensed clinical social worker under IC 25-23
  • Be a licensed mental health counselor under IC 25-23

OR

  • Have a master’s degree in a human services field and be able to demonstrate to the BDDS behavior management committee that the individual has either coursework in or five (5) years of experience in devising, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans

This position must maintain annually 10 hours of continuing education hours related to the practice of behavioral support.
