Complete responsibility for all design and activities related to muffler designs.DFM - Through interaction with teams and Manufacturing Engineering, ensure ALL design for Manufacturability/ Assembly issues are addressed and resolved before key customer and manufacturing milestone dates.Program Involvement - The Engineering Specialist will review and track program timing, and alert program team of potential problems or delays that may affect meeting milestones. The DES will be a core member of the appropriate program teams, and will interact with manufacturing, suppliers, Q.C., testing, designers, and the customer. That interaction is to include attendance at design meetings, advanced quality and program meetings. It may also involve interaction with Tier 2 suppliers to review designs/prints and follow appropriate testing.CAE - Initiate and facilitate when necessary, advanced engineering activities such as modeling, NVH, Data acquisitions, Cold Flow results, transmission loss.Testing - The DES will be involved with testing and analyzing sound and durability test data and results to create adequate tuning designs.Prototypes - The DES will provide technical assistance during prototype builds - including marking prints and on-site assistance with outsourced or internal builds. The Senior Engineering Specialist is primarily responsible for writing bill of materials and seeing that all customer requirements for tuning element designs are met.Warranty - Support any technical warranty issues as they arise.Data Acquisition - Primary technical contact for the planning, instrumentation, and the collection of "On-Vehicle" data in coordination with the test team.Customer Interaction - Make presentations to customer related to tuning activities customer visit.New Business - Support any new business quotations from a tuning design and/or presentation needs.Managerial - Lad the hiring process for new NVH/Tuning personnel that will be hired at ASI. Train and mentor both current personnel and new employees in the NVH/Muffler Tuning area.
