We are seeking (2) Network Technicians with an 18 Month commitment to conduct site cabling clean-up and tech refresh (replacing network devices) on site in Mount Vernon, IN. Plant has 80 plus locations and more than 300 network devices. Will need some network racks and cabinets need to be replaced. Candidate MUST be flexible in terms of work hours.The Network Technicians will be responsible for replacing EOL (End of Life) Network hardware with New Cisco Hardware. Technicians will also be responsible for cleaning up Network Cabling between devices per company's cabling standards. Responsibilities:
- Replacing End-of-Life Hardware in 80+ bldgs.
- Cable cleanup / Cable dressing of all Network Racks and Cabinets
- Cable Termination (Cat6)
- Labeling of all cable Terminations between Devices; Patch cables and / or terminating Devices
- Cabinet Replacements (Wall-mounted cabinets and / or Racks)
- Act as smart hands for New Site LAN & WAN Infrastructure installation or Relocations
- Must have experience in new network builds
- Support Local Engineer for New Technology Rollouts
- Maintain and update CMDB
- Participate in improvement projects (E.G. Tech Refresh)
- Coordinate with local site contact for service provider issues
- Act as secondary or focal contact for any WAN issue
- Liaise with service desk to create and follow-up tickets
- Submit incidents and change requests
- update MS Visio diagrams / drawing with equipment elevation and rack positions
- Ensure before and after pictures are taken and updated within site folder
- Cabinet inventory ensuring UPS and PDU's are providing diversification
- Over 4 Years of experience in Structured Cabling
- Understanding raceway and conduit systems as per industry standard; Low-voltage and / or Fiber systems
- Must be familiar providing console access for Cisco Network switches and other Network devices
- Must be proven experience in replacing of Cisco network devices; Cisco Switches and AP's while adhering to proper mounting techniques
- Previous experience working with multiple vendors
- Ability to work on ladders, catwalks and / or man-lifts
- Must be responsible a self-starter and manage time wisely
- Must be Familiar with Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, Visio etc.
- Must be flexible as it relates to hours of operation (some work will take place during maintenance windows after-hours)
- Strong cultural awareness
- Cabinet inventory ensuring UPS and PDU's are providing diversification
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a 5-Panel Drug screening
- Must complete site orientation training
