Senior Product Design Engineer must have the technical expertise to develop and lead product design projects, supervise product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
  • Implement design changes to various HVAC systems.
  • Product Engineering leader for activities related to improving reliability and cost productivity.
  • Provide technical support for special customer applications.
  • Participate as a project member and/or leader in developing the next generation products for our business.
  • Provide product applications support for the Marketing and Sales force.
  • Provide product design support in a plant environment to improve manufacturability and reduce costs.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and abroad up to two weeks at a time. Able to attain necessary visa for travel when applicable. Expected travel time 10%.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of engineering work experience is required.

Essential Skills or Knowledge:
  • Sheet metal design and manufacturing, along with an understanding of electricity and electromechanical devices (motors, contactors, etc.)
  • Experience in Open Coil Resistive Electric Heat design and application
  • Experience with air movement / Fluid Dynamics
  • Experience with maintaining products to UL or other agency standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-location, cross-functional team
  • Proven technical creativity with a demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Excel and Mini-Tab for data analysis along with Microsoft Access for Data Management
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, FEA Tools)
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on many projects simultaneously and meet established project schedules
  • DFSS Green Belt Certification or training preferred
