The primary function of the Route Manager is to interact with customers and Route Service and Sales Representative in their district. This position is responsible for achieving revenue growth targets for the department through sales and retention. This will be accomplished by building relationships, ensuring Genuine Service Excellence and always meeting or exceeding our customers’ needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assure the consistent delivery of Genuine Service Excellence to all customers in assigned area.
2. Establish customer relationships using the Team Play philosophy by partnering with other members of the team to accomplish exceptional results.
3. Train, motivate, and create an environment of accountability to reinforce our zero-accident culture and mindset with employees.
4. Observe, analyze, and coach subordinates’ performance and behavior through evaluation rides and coaching sessions to meet or exceed performance goals and fully develop their skill sets.
5. Communicate effectively with customers to be able to differentiate ITU AbsorbTech from the competition.
6. Manage new product trials with target accounts and existing customers.
7. Effectively secure new service agreements and service agreement renewals.
8. Promptly respond to customer requests in conjunction with the Customer Response Center.
9. Provide effective account management services.
10. Cover routes for RSSRs when needed.
11. Work with the Logistics Manager to maintain proper route efficiency.
12. All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma and 3-5 years experience or equivalent work experience and a clean driving record are required. Experience in distribution and customer service in a business-to-business environment preferred. Obtaining a DOT medical card, and the ability to do so, are also required.
Incumbent must have good written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills and must be flexible.
