Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Logistics Specialist will be the liaison between internal and external customers. This position will be onsite with the customer, located in Terre Haute, IN and will be responsible for customer service activities, procedures and other daily tasks important to assisting with dispatching of carriers. The Logistics Specialist will also be responsible for the review and processing of customer orders and complete execution for all shipments in their respective portfolio ensuring timely delivery.
Typical Job Duties:
1) Effectively communicate necessary changes or adaptations important to the customer shipments in a timely manner.
2) Process all inbound, outbound and return shipments using software and other tools for accurate and timely delivery.
3) Follow-up on orders, ensure delivery and communicate with internal and external customers where appropriate.
4) Engage in problem solving activities involving orders that may have been damaged, arrived short, late or missing
5) Assist in claims process by collecitng necessary documents and relaying appropriate information to Evans claims department
6) Understand and follow all departmental procedures and policies
7) Provides excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers
8) Performs all other duties as assigned. Reports to work on time and works overtime as required
9) High level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task
10) Create Bills of Lading
11) Ability to follow up and obtain Bills of Lading and Proofs of Delivery
Education and/or Experience:
College Degree or 2 years related experience; additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by Human Resources. Ability to read, write, type and speak English is a requirement of this position. Solid customer service skills and ability to multi-task are essential for this position.
