WRS has an opening for a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Industrial herbicide application from early February - November (average 50-60 hrs/week)
Primarily operating pickup-mounted sprayer (90%), but some use of UTVs and sporadic use of 40 lb backpack sprayer on rough terrain
Managing unwanted vegetation in electrical substations, roadsides, gravel equipment yards and driveways, pastures, tree farms, and other rights-of-way
Snow/Ice equipment operator December - February
Operating pickup-mounted liquid deicer application truck, skidsteer & pickup-mounted snowplows, ATV mounted snowplow, occasional hand shoveling. This work is often at night.
Shop technician and/or office assistance from September - January
Fleet maintenance and care including vehicle washing/cleaning, spray system repair/plumbing, basic mechanics, general shop cleaning, and potential for light fabrication and spray system plumbing work depending on skillset

Must be at least 18 yrs old
No felonies
Able to pass drug screening (including marijuana and prescription drugs) and criminal background check
Good driving record
Maintain good working relationships with customers, supervisors, and co-workers
Attention to detail
Basic math skills, fractions, decimals, percents (for mixing herbicides)
Willing to work 60+ hrs/week in the summer months including some partial Saturdays
Willing to work independently, out-of-town 30-60 nights/year (home on weekends)
Willing to work nights as needed in the winter months for snow/ice management
Must commit to at least one season through August 2020 following 60-day trial period
Must have an aptitude to learn and be flexible (training on equipment operation and weed identification will be provided)
Must be able to pass Commercial Applicator licensing test upon hire (study materials provided)
Must be willing/able to work with "smart" devices such as smartphones/tablets in order to complete required tasks
Maintain neat and well kept appearance
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Benefits
Above average hourly pay (DOE + overtime)(approximately 400-600 overtime hours/year)
$250/month medical insurance allowance is provided after 1 year of employment
Motels and $45/day per diem are paid when out-of-town
Cell phone stipend of $75/month
6 paid holidays/year
Paid vacation (1 hour for every 40 hours worked)
$1,500 "come-back" bonus paid in December for returning applicators committing to the following season
Profit sharing plan paid at the end of the season
Company shirts provided
Attendance at educational conferences is provided for professional development
After first season, the position functions much like an account manager for those demonstrating aptitude
