- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for our Polarion instance while we continue our digital transformation into a MedTech organization
- Analyze, architect, develop and implement ALM strategy to aid in improved product development processes optimally supporting a range of low to high complexity projects
- Develop sustainable ALM system solutions, by configuring the Polarion system and aligning with quality management processes and procedures
- Work with stakeholders to define solutions, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities, as well as the target benefits expected. Analyze functional product development requirements and translate these to ALM system requirements
- Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in specification of new services and/or major upgrades to existing services
- Driving technical issues to resolution: from qualifying the issue, to reproducing it through implementing solutions
- Consulting and guidance to teams regarding tool usage, features and functionality including workflow and updates to procedures or work instructions and alignment with template management
- User training, development of how-to's, and continuous service process improvements
- Implementation, testing and validation of designs and solutions
- Support migrations of external DHFs/projects to our Polarion instance
- SDLC Administrative processes: license management, new user creations and access management as well as project settings. Additionally, manage roles and permissions as used/applied to team members on projects
- Serve as point of escalation for issues related to the services provided
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Business Informatics, Computer Science or related fields; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience with Polarion in the following areas: Work item data model, work item and document workflows, template documents & pages, plans & testing, queries, reports, projects, resource traceability, permissions, connectors to external systems/tools, subversion repository management
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes (Requirement Management, Test Management, DevOps, etc.) and tools.
- Polarion ALM subject matter expert should be able to design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements
- Experience in a regulated industry such as medical device, automotive, aerospace, or defense - Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Self-starter who drives pro-actively activities which are in own area of responsibility
- Experience partnering with stakeholders/business to gather requirements and turn the requirements into technical reality
- Experience with overall systems lifecycle tools, e.g., PLM, ERP, ALM, etc.
- Broad end-to-end knowledge of the product development lifecycle processes from different perspectives: software engineering, product development, quality engineering, and others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing
- Great teammate with leadership skills, well organized, self-motivated, creative, inventive, and strong work ethic
- Experience working based on a Lean / Agile / SaFe methodology is beneficial
- Excellent Knowledge of Polarion architecture and its components (Subversion / Apache / PostgreSQL / JRE, etc.)
- Polarion tool integration with other peripheral tools like Azure DevOps, TeamCenter, Jira, MBSE etc.
- 5+ years of hands experience with Polarion ALM application Implementation, consulting and support.
- Experience with software development for medical devices including SaaS
