Position: Sr. Developer (Typescript/JavaScript/Python)

Top Requirements:

JavaScript (Back end) and TypeScript and PythonJSON API Development

Plusses: Agriculture industry experience

Day to Day/Project:

This role is in the Breeding organization in Seed Operations in Automation Engineering Group. They are a group of programmers working with the machines in the plant in Ankeny, IA. In the labs in Ankeny, they extract the DNA from the seed. The machines in the lab are either machines that were built internally and some off the shelf. This team does the programming integrating all of the machines into one system. There is also a heavy scripting component with this in Python and doing back-end work in using JavaScript/TypeScript within the JSON API's. They will need to script a ton with the back-end so they can generate reports and pull log files on the back-end. These reports are machine schedules, graphs/bar charts that are going to help the scientists analyze the data the machines are pulling. All of the user interfaces integrate with machines. This will be a heavy scripting job with Python/TypeScript. This person is going to be communicating with the scientists in the lab to help write the plug-ins and pull it into a log file to then analyze that data and create a report to show them how the genotypes are interacting with the machines.
