- Proficient in VMWare - fundamental understanding of how it correlates to the rest of the systems architecture and network architecture. - Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery - replication & Snapshots. Ent.- Strong understanding of Networking fundamentalsJob Responsibilities:• The System Engineer's primary responsibility is planning, deploying, and maintaining a VMware and Windows Domain infrastructure.• Responsible for assisting with backup, replication, High Availability and Disaster Recovery of all systems and their data.• Installs, configures, and administers networks and system components including, but not limited to VMware, Veeam Backup & Replication, Cisco & Dell Switches, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and SQL.• Capable of using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Perl, SQL, etc. to provide automation, reports, and monitoring.• Enhances and proactively fixes functionality of existing networks by isolating issues to specific equipment, data, or software.• Documents in detail to ensure effective troubleshooting, recovery, and installation.• Facilitates network and system changes by effective communication with necessary parties.Job Qualifications:• 5+ years of experience administering a VMware environment.• 5+ year of experience administering a Windows Domain environment.• Proficient in deploying a VMware high availability environment using vCenter.• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is preferred.• A strong understanding of TCP/IP networks.• Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Perl, SQL, etc. Requirements - Well-founded grasp of LAN (local area networks)- Proven knowledge of Basic Network Troubleshooting- Quality experience with network design- Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan- Expertise in Vmware Infrastructure- Practical knowledge of Network Configuration- Wide ranging experience with Network Engineering- General familiarity with network architecture- Deep understanding of Vmware Technologies- Disaster recovery experience preferred- Earlier work involving vSphere- Comprehensive knowledge of VMware - Solid scripting skills is required for success at this position - Candidates with solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks will be the best fit for this position - Experience with automation software - Applicants should have experience with virtualization and containerization - Candidates with proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems will be the best fit for this position - Experience with monitoring systems is required for success at this position - Solid networking knowledge Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
