Location: Anamosa State Penitentiary, Anamosa, Iowa
Pay Range: $52,873.60 - $80,496.00 yearly, $25.42 - $38.70 hourly
Job Description: Join our team as an Activities Specialist 2 at Anamosa State Penitentiary! Activity Specialists plan, schedule, and supervise daily recreational activities that promote a healthy, pro-social and safe atmosphere for the offender population at ASP. You would work with all disciplines/staff at ASP to promote a safe and secure facility while engaging incarcerated individuals in recreation and activities that will assist them with their wellness and reentry goals. Supervise, train and complete timesheets for all activity department incarcerated individual workers. Provide ongoing training as needed for all activity workers and maintain a monthly/weekly schedule of all departmental activities. Supervise special extracurricular activities (wellness, tournaments, holiday cookouts, bingo, photo’s, TV rental, craft orders, restorative justice project). Research new ideas to assist the activity department and all treatment programming as well as to enhance overall physical fitness.
